The Objective:
Quickly create a music video to share with Gold Star Families.
The Challenge:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, many Memorial Day events were being cancelled. Steve Bonafel had a tradition of playing his patriotic music at Memorial Day events to honor fallen soldiers and Gold Star Families. He wanted to create a video to make sure people could still experience his song "The Last Parade", even though he could not play it live. He called me the Friday before Memorial Day.
Client Bio:
A gifted and accomplished songwriter and performer from the state of Kentucky, Steve Bonafel's music is well known throughout Appalachia.
The Outcome:
Due to the short deadline and restrictions imposed by social distancing and COVID-19, the video was mostly composed of stock video clips. The clips had to be stitched together to create a cohesive finished product that represented the soul and message behind the song. The video was viewed on social media and Steve received very thoughtful feedback.
What the Client Said:
“Ben made a video to go with a very special song I wrote and recorded. The imagery and thoughtful handling of the subject matter was very impressive. His production was first class and the response time was super fast. People will be enjoying it for a long time.”

What Others Said:
“When Steve shared the video with me, I cried. That song touched my heart the very first time I heard Steve tell me the story. Watching that video brought the song to life. I shared the video with thousands of Gold Star and MIA Families on Memorial Day. The response has been almost overwhelming.”
“Ben, thank you for bringing it to life visually. That song/video was a reminder to thousands of Gold Star Families, that even though events were cancelled, that our Loved Ones haven't been and never will be forgotten.”
